A panel of experts will take on the interesting topic “Lights and Sirens Use and Abuse: What Science Has Revealed” during a webinar on Tuesday, March 29 at 1:00 p.m., CST. The complimentary event is sponsored by ZOLL Data Systems and will offer one hour of CE credit.

The panel will include Dr. Doug Kupas, Medical Director and Co-Director of Mobile Integrated Healthcare; Jerry Overton, President, International Academies of Emergency Dispatch; Dr. Bryan Wilson, Emergency and EMS Physician, St. Luke’s University Health Network; and Matt Zavadsky, Chief Strategic Integration Officer with MedStar Mobile Healthcare.

Countless studies have demonstrated that the time saved during the “Lights and Sirens” mode of vehicle operation is minimal. Only a small percentage of patients benefit from the time saved, yet unnecessary use of lights and sirens is causing needless crashes and placing inherent danger on EMS personnel, patients and the public.
