Third series of “Six Sigma” classes hosted by the Foundation

The DFW Hospital Council (DFWHC) Foundation started its third series of Lean “Six Sigma” Yellow Belt presentations March 27-28 at its offices in Irving for more than 70 participants from hospitals across North Texas. More than 11 teams are expected to participate in the program involving problem-solving exercises to assist with patient safety.

Sponsored by the Hospital Improvement Innovation Network (HIIN), Six Sigma’s Yellow Belt Certification is a program providing insight into the techniques of improvement methodologies. The training provides introductions to process management and teamwork while enabling individuals to achieve objectives. Participants gather data and work together in problem solving exercises.

The DFWHC Foundation previously hosted the Six Sigma classes in 2016 and 2017 with a total of 70 attendees participating.

Patti Taylor of the DFWHC Foundation’s Patient Safety and Quality Committee served as official host to attendees.
