More than 30,000 vaccinated in Parker County

A Parker County Emergency Management Services Coordinator announced last week more than 30,000 had been vaccinated in Parker County, which accounts for part of the reason COVID-19 numbers have dropped, according to an update given to commissioners.

The Parker County Hospital District posts vaccine appointments every Tuesday and Thursday morning.

Last week, the county only held one testing day at Weatherford’s Heritage Park, with 28 people getting testing. All came back negative.

Parker County, in addition to Rockwall County and the city of Garland, announced this week they will be participating in the new statewide Texas Department of State Health Services’ program called the Texas Public Health Vaccine Scheduler. With a few strokes of a keyboard, residents should be matched to the next available vaccination event in their county within a day.

There’s also a phone number, 833-832-7067 seven days a week from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
