Keynote speaker announced for IQSC Data Summit on Nov. 6



The DFW Hospital Council (DFWHC) Foundation Information and Quality Services Center’s (IQSC) Second Annual Data Summit is set for Tuesday, November 6 at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children in Dallas.

Dr. Priya Devapriya, the vice president of health informatics at the UNT Health Science Center, was announced today as the keynote speaker. Dr. Devapriya is a systems engineer dedicated to improving the patient outcomes and operational efficiencies through systems engineering methods and value innovation. Dr. Devapriya’s expertise includes the development and EMR-integration of advanced predictive models, scheduling optimization models, and discrete event simulation models.

Dr. Devapriya earned his Ph.D. in industrial engineering and operations research from Clemson University and his MS degree in management and administrative sciences from University of Texas at Dallas. Dr. Devapriya is a lean six-sigma black belt and holds adjunct associate professorships in surgery at Medical College of Georgia and anesthesiology at Miller School of Medicine at University of Miami.

The overall agenda will be announced over the next two weeks.

This year’s event is themed “Analytics to Action!” More than 15 hospital abstracts will also be on display detailing projects utilizing data over the past year.
