Foundation’s Preceptor Academy taking place at Medical City Las Colinas

The DFW Hospital Council Foundation Workforce Center’s first Nurse Preceptor Academy of the year is being held today at Medical City Las Colinas in Irving. A sold-out audience of 120-plus is in attendance.

The Nurse Preceptor Academy is for healthcare professionals interested in learning about precepting, with sessions designed to help the beginner and the experienced preceptor.

Today’s speakers include:
Dr. Tony Paterniti discussing “Preceptor Roles and Responsibilities,”
Victoria England of UT Southwestern Medical Center with “Getting Off to a Good Start,”
Dr. Susan Sheriff of Texas Woman’s University covering “Adult Learning and Learning Styles,”
Marci Ayers of Medical City Healthcare with the presentation “Beginning Behaviors,”
Connie Lowry of UT Arlington College of Nursing presenting “Time Management and Organization,”
• and Stephanie Knox of Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Allen to discuss “Assessing Progress.”
