Foundation’s 6th Annual IQSC Data Summit set for Jan. 25-26

Hey, we have a secret to tell you – data is power! With that in mind, the DFW Hospital Council (DFWHC) Foundation will be hosting its 6th Annual Information and Quality Services Center’s (IQSC) Data Summit on January 25-26 from 9:00 a.m. to 12 noon both days. This year’s event is themed, “The Powerful World of Data.”

The virtual event will be highlighted by Dr. James Zimring, author of “Partial Truths,” who will serve as keynote speaker. In his book, Dr. Zimring argues many of the mistakes the human mind makes boils down to misperceiving fractions. He says we see slews of statistics that are essentially fractions, such as percentages and probabilities, and we misinterpret them. Zimring will explore the reason these flaws benefit us, demonstrating that individual error can be advantageous to problem solving.

“We’re very excited to host Dr. Zimring at this year’s summit,” said Theresa Mendoza, director of data services at the DFWHC Foundation. “He will bring a unique and fascinating perspective to our event, and we are looking forward to his presentation.”

A full agenda will be available in December.

Target audience includes executives, business intelligence analysts, business managers, strategists, CIOs, data-driven designers, data engineers, data scientists, directors of marketing and researchers.
