We submit required hospital data in the 5010 format to THCIC

If you are not already submitting your required inpatient and outpatient data in a HIPAA 5010 billing format, then, you are behind the eight ball. The Texas Health Care Information Collection (THCIC) agency will require all data submissions, inpatient and outpatient, beginning in July to be submitted in the new 5010 format

The Inpatient and Outpatient technical requirements are available on the THCIC website at:

www.dshs.state.tx.us/thcic/hospitals/Tech_Req_Spec_5010_ver_5-Inpatient_THCIC837.pdf

www.dshs.state.tx.us/thcic/OutpatientFacilities/Tech_Req_Spec_5010_ver_4-Outpatient_THCIC837.pdf

The Dallas-Fort Worth Hospital Council Foundation’s Information and Quality Services Center (IQSC) has you covered as you transition to the 5010 format. We have submitted all of the Q1 2012 data successfully in the
newly required format.  The web-based data submission tool we have available for transmitting your data will not only accept your 5010 format, but take your 4010 format and translate it to 5010 for data submission to THCIC.

Please let us know how we can be of service during this time of transition.
