Highlighting opportunities of the DFW Hospital Council Foundation’s Texas Quality Initiative (TQI), leaders of the organization filmed a video last week to promote its annual conference on May 11 at the UT Southwestern Medical Center’s William P. Clements, Jr. University Hospital in Dallas.

Dr. Baron Hamman of Texas Health Heart and Vascular Hospital, Dr. Steves Ring of UT Southwestern and Dr. James Edgerton of the Heart Hospital Baylor Plano sat down for the four-minute video filmed at the Foundation offices to discuss the upcoming conference. The TQI video will be released this week.

The mission of the TQI is to improve the quality of care for cardiovascular surgery patients, merge robust and risk adjusted clinical data with administrative data and leverage this ability to provide long-term comparative, cost effectiveness and quality outcomes research.

This year’s meeting will be highlighted by a networking lunch with Dr. Jeff Rich, director of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. The conference is from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., with the lunch with Dr. Rich following from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.
