Panel to discuss the future of Telehealth on Feb. 9

The DFW Alliance for Healthcare Excellence will be hosting the unique panel discussion “Future of Telehealth in Texas” on Thursday, February 9 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Brookhaven Country Club in Farmers Branch. Panel members include Julie Hall-Barrow, EdD, vice president of virtual health and innovation at Children’s Health; W. Stephen Love, president/CEO of the DFW Hospital Council; and Dr. Mari Tietze, professor at Texas Woman’s University College of Nursing.

“In light of the status of population health, the growing number of senior adults and the changing administration in Washington, D.C., focus has turned to how we delivery care in the U.S.,” said Dr. Tietze. “Information technology has provided innovative advances in care delivery, as well as decreasing trends in cost of equipment and service. Telehealth remains one area of debate.”

According to Dr. Tietze, Telehealth is generally comprised of telemedicine (diagnostic), remote home management (monitoring) and mobile health (consumer-based health-generated data). Panel members were chosen to represent practice, policy and research.

“Participants will be encouraged to engage in open dialogue with the panel to explore sustainable approaches that can make a collective, positive impact on Texas communities,” Dr. Tietze said.

Tickets are $25 for Alliance members and $40 for non-members. A buffet lunch will be available prior to the panel discussion. You can register here.
