Notice to NTREC Supported Physicians!

ElectronicRecords

The North Texas Regional Extension Center (NTREC) is a grant funded program whose purpose was to assist primary care physicians in 42 counties of Northeast Texas migrate from paper records to an electronic medical record (EMR) and achieve Meaningful Use (MU) Stage 1. The NTREC program was funded by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC), to serve as a support and resource center for primary care provider Health IT needs.

During the six-year time period, NTREC assisted 1,782 providers to select and implement a certified EMR, and of these, 1,368 providers to achieve MU Stage 1. As a result, our primary care physicians have received over an estimated $20.5 million from the CMS MU Incentive Pay Program.

As the ONC-funded program will sunset the first week in June, all NTREC grant funded services to our physician practices will end on May 5, 2016.

However, NTREC will still be available to provide expert consulting services on a Fee-For-Service basis. These services include:
• Annual Security Risk Assessment;
• Preparation for Meaningful Use and HIPAA Audits;
• Meaningful Use Stage 1 and Stage 2 Consulting;
• HIPAA Privacy and Security Consulting;
• HIPAA and Security Policy Formulation and Updates.

If you have any questions about these services, please contact us at 469-648-5122 or www.ntrec.org.
