Marching for Babies Everywhere!

If you were unable to make the Dallas and Fort Worth March for Babies events April 16, then you missed out on an enjoyable day! The weather cooperated for a productive walk where the Dallas-Fort Worth Hospital Council Team was well represented at both events.

Why so many walks for good causes? These events bring people together with a common goal of improving their community’s health. It’s a diverse and challenging opportunity to raise money to support education and research. In addition, these events introduce the healthcare community to the patients outside of a hospital environment. Plus, the exercise doesn’t hurt either.

The March for Babies Walk is a satisfying opportunity to bring your kids, parents, neighbors and colleagues together for a day of rapport and team building. I can honestly say our team had a memorable time.

On a daily basis, the March of Dimes saves babies by trying to reduce birth defects and premature delivery. The American Cancer Society supports research to treat and cure cancer and runs community outreach programs to help diagnosed patients with care and support. The American Heart Association, with annual walks in both Dallas and Fort Worth, supports research for heart disease and strokes. The American Diabetes Association walks educate citizens on lifestyle changes for people living with diabetes. The opportunities to participate are endless.

Participate in your community’s efforts to promote health and cure disease. Health should mean something to all of us. Thanks to everyone who participated.
