Healthy Tarrant County Collaboration

The Healthy Tarrant County Collaboration (HTCC) was awarded the inaugural Dr. Ron J. Anderson Thinking Progressively for Health Award from the Texas Public Health Association (TPHA) in April. The award recognizes the work HTCC and its Plan4Health partners have done throughout the year to increase access to healthy foods for residents in southeast Fort Worth.

The Texas Public Health Association renamed the Thinking Progressively for Health Award to honor the late Dr. Ron J. Anderson whose innovative ideas and practices were established over three decades as a physician and president/CEO of Parkland Health & Hospital System. The award honors excellence and innovation in public health practices throughout Texas.

HTCC is a partner of the DFW Hospital Council Foundation’s North Texas Community Health Collaborative. The Plan4Health project is funded by the American Planning Association. HTCC is one of the sub-recipients of 97 awards granted nationwide to develop and strengthen coalitions and to implement local plans to address chronic disease risk factors.
