Hurricane Harvey – How North Texans can help
Excerpted from a Dallas Morning News story by Cassandra Jaramillo and Loyd Brumfield
Hundreds of Harvey evacuees have come to Dallas-Fort Worth to avoid the damage and danger of the storms. Here’s how North Texans can help, with shelter, supplies and volunteer efforts:
CITY OF DALLAS: Volunteers may be needed to help evacuees at designated recreation centers. Volunteers can register online.
TRUSTED WORLD: Volunteers are needed to help sort donated items from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily at the Trusted World central donation site at 15660 North Dallas Parkway in Dallas. To sign up for times, click here.
Supplies are needed for Dallas locations that are housing evacuees, including recreation centers.
Drop off items at a donation center at 15660 North Dallas Parkway (north of Arapaho Road), Dallas, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily. The center is operated by the local nonprofit group Trusted World, which is working with the city and several disaster relief agencies.
