Foundation’s TQI speaks at national conference in Baltimore

The DFW Hospital Council (DFWHC) Foundation’s Texas Quality Initiative (TQI) took center stage last Thursday during the Society of Thoracic Surgeons event “Advances in Quality & Outcomes: A Data Managers Meeting” at the Marriott Waterfront Hotel in Baltimore, Maryland.

Before more than 600 attendees, Cathy Knoff, the director of TQI, and Syma Prince presented “Wanted Dead or Alive, Not Unknown,” detailing the importance of a 30-day follow up of patients.

DFWHC Foundation Board Member Dr. Baron Hamman, a TQI director and surgeon at Texas Health Heart and Vascular Hospital, also did a presentation on liver disease and its effect on cardiac surgery.
