Foundation’s IQSC to host first annual data seminar on Nov. 16



With Big Data rapidly revolutionizing healthcare, the DFW Hospital Council (DFWHC) Foundation’s Information Quality Services Center (IQSC) announced today it would host its first annual data educational event on Thursday, November 16 at Texas Woman’s University in Dallas. Titled “Healthcare Data: Descriptive, Predictive, Prescriptive,” the seminar will highlight nationally known speakers from across the U.S. discussing the importance of Big Data in today’s healthcare industry.

The seminar is from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Keynote speakers include:

Katherine Rowell
Rowell is co-founder and principal of Katherine S. Rowell & Associates and HealthDataViz, a Boston firm specializing in helping healthcare organizations design and present visual displays of data to inform decisions and stimulate action. She advises providers and regulatory agencies how to align systems and develop staff to communicate healthcare data clearly. She made crucial contributions to the establishment of the National Surgical Quality Improvement Program (400+ participating hospitals).

Joshua Milligan (Tableau Zen Master)
Milligan has been with Teknion Data Solutions since 2004 and serves as principal consultant. With a background in software development and custom .NET solutions, he brings a blend of analytical and creative thinking to BI solutions and data visualization. Joshua has been named as a Tableau Zen Master every year since 2014. This places him in a unique group recognized as masters of the tool with a deep desire to teach others.

Will Grey
Grey is a B.I. thought leader who has helped more than 50 organizations, large and small, successfully implement modern solutions that include Analytics CoEs, Digital Transformations, Visual Analytics, Data Science, and cloud technologies. As a Practice Leader/Principle Consultant at Teknion, he serves a team of high-performing consultants that implement leading edge solutions across many technologies and industry verticals such as healthcare, financial services and consumer packaged goods.
