Morning Session Entitled: “Reforming Healthcare Recruitment”
Speaker: Greta Sherman who is a Senior Vice President of Healthcare Strategic Planning for TMP Worldwide Advertising & Communications and has over 25 years of experience in recruitment and retention program development.
The passage of Healthcare Reform in March 2010 has changed the way we recruit and retain this nation’s healthcare employees. Mix those changes with the rapidly evolving technology, retiring Baby Boomers, the demands of Generation Y, rapid growth for non-profit organizations and changes in communication, and you have a world that demands a different type of recruitment professional. This session will cover the ramifications of these changes and offer best practices for both recruitment and retention along with characteristics of what makes an outstanding recruitment professional in this new business-driven healthcare environment.
Afternoon session entitled:”Health Reform in Year Two and Beyond: The Road Ahead (or Out) for Employers”
Speaker: Edward Fensholt who is a Senior Vice President and Director of Compliance Services for Lockton Benefit Group of Lockton Companies, LLC. He has over 20 years of experience as an attorney concentrating on ERISA and other aspects of employee benefits laws
This presentation will recap the current status of the health reform implementation effort, the judicial challenges (and likely outcomes) to the law and discuss the financial implications of health reform to health care provides, as reflected in aggregated modeling results prepared by Lockton. The session will also focus on potential methods for determining full-time employee status (for purposes of health reform’s employer mandate in 2014) by averaging employee (including PRN employee) hours over an averaging period of up to a year and the results of a comprehensive Lockton survey regarding employer reaction (so far) to health reform.
