Dallas Coalition for Hunger Solutions speaking to Foundation’s collaborative

Highlighting this morning’s monthly meeting of the DFW Hospital Council (DFWHC) Foundation’s Community Health Collaborative, Dabney Dwyer of the Dallas Coalition for Hunger Solutions, is providing a presentation detailing the efforts of her organization.

The Dallas Coalition for Hunger Solutions (DCHS) was created in 2012. Chaired by Congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson, the coalition is spearheaded by the Texas Hunger Initiative and the North Texas Food Bank. Through action teams, DCHS brings together community leaders engaged in the work of addressing poverty and hunger within the city. The DCHS mission is to empower residents to gain equal access to healthy food.

Coordinated by the DFWHC Foundation, the Community Health Collaborative is made up of 32 residents with expertise in public health, data analysis and strategic planning. The team is working towards understanding health and disease disparities in North Texas while creating plans to promote healthier lives.
