A Recipe for Awesome!

Merging competitiveness and collaboration – a recipe for awesome!

Some of our largest North Texas hospitals have been on a journey this past year. “A journey?” you may ask. Yes, a journey to develop the region’s most robust healthcare workforce tool. The milestones on this journey are a testament to the dedication of hospital partners such as Baylor Health Care System, HCA North Texas, and Texas Health Resources and the hard work of the stellar bunch of professionals that represent these health systems and technology partner, Orca Eyes.

The following photo helps to highlight those who have given many hours of hard work and collaborative fervor to this journey that is expected to continue well into the future.

The radiant smiles pretty much sum it up – a stunning bunch with a collaborative spirit that is simply, awesome!

These three hospital systems, comprising of over 40 hospitals, represent a significant part of the region’s healthcare workforce. Hospital systems typically are competitors. They generally strive for market share, community representation and of course, return on their investments. While these factors are simply “the nature of the beast”, these North Texas hospitals have joined forces and are well on their way to becoming regional pioneers and leaders in healthcare workforce planning collaboration.

The DFW Hospital Council Foundation Workforce Center, tasked with leading this effort, has several other hospital systems interested in becoming a part of this initiative. Regional educational institutions have also been engaged. The workforce tool is already moving into its second phase with a new version set to launch at the beginning of 2012. This will move the project much further along the path of becoming the workforce tool of choice, hands down.
