Workforce Consulting – Another Perspective
On any journey, ideally all items are available and accessible – some things may be in the trunk of the car or under the seat. Similarly, with any new project, another perspective may be needed to help boost workforce consulting. Over the years, the Foundation has established a strong partnership with Towers Watson. Their subject matter expert, Jamie Hale, was willing to share best practices and to provide guidance that helped us answer the question “Now that we have the tool what do we do with it?”.
Our technology and hospital partners believed that by adding Jamie’s perspective, she could help broaden the directional look for this journey – exactly what Jamie provided to the members of the North Texas Regional Workforce Planning Collaborative. The meeting was a real success as it provided insight and ignited the thought process of each member of our workforce collaborative.
Jamie was able to help the group with meaningful workforce planning topics such as:
o Key Talent Issues in Today’s Environment: Market and Towers Watson Research Findings
o Planning for the Future: Using Workforce Analytics and Planning to Drive Your Talent Strategy
o Using a Regional Approach to Workforce Analytics and Planning
Not only were current hospital partners, Baylor, HCA and THR present; but prospective partners such as Parkland were also in attendance. Jamie focused on what was important to each hospital. Being at different points on the journey, each system was able to understand what needs to happen internally to make the most effective use of the tool. They were also able to better understand what their collaborative efforts meant to the North Texas region. With the participation of the group, Towers Watson and the Foundation provided the right resource at the right time to North Texas hospitals, ultimately leading to the success of the North Texas Regional Workforce Planning Collaborative.
